Spiderman Birthday Cake

ingredients for covering
  • 300gr whipping cream
  • blue food coloring
ingredients for decorating
  • 300gr dark chocolate
  • 130gr whipping cream
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 5 Tbsp mascarpone
  • red food coloring


instructions

Make the cake and put it in the fridge.
Beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form. While the mixer is running, add a few drops of blue color to create a light blue whipped cream.
Spread the cream over the cake, cover it and place it back in the fridge.

In a piece of parchment paper design Spiderman's head and cut it around (adapted from i heart baking).



To make the chocolate ganache for the spiderweb, chop chocolate and put it in a bowl. Heat the cream just to a boil and pour over chocolate. Let stand for 1 minute. Add honey and stir with a whisk until smooth.
Let ganache cool enough to hold its shape.



Place the ganache in a pipping bag with a small round nozzle.
Place the design in the middle of the cake and pipe a circle around the head.



Remove the design, cut the eyes and place them inside the head. Pipe ganache around them and remove the eyes.
Make lines from the center to the edge of the cake and connect them with other chocolate lines.
Do the same procedure for the web inside the head.




Mix 3 Tbsp mascarpone with red colour and cover the head with a piping bag. Use the rest 2 Tbsp mascarpone to cover the eyes.
